Annual Pink Shirt Day Rally Spreading Kindness on the Streets of Vancouver

On Wednesday February 24th, CKNW Orphans’ Fund will be hosting the 9th annual anti-bullying campaign Pink Shirt Day presented by Coast Capital Savings. The passion for this initiative is fueled by the encouraging statistic showing that when bystanders intervene, 50% of bullying can end within 10 seconds. Held at the corner of Georgia and Granville Streets from 7:30 to 9:00 AM, the Pink Shirt Day rally encourages British Columbians to wear pink to show support and symbolize zero-tolerance for bullying.

The t-shirt design for this year’s Pink Shirt Day campaign was created pro-bono by award-winning advertising agency Rethink Canada and states, “Kindness is one size fits all”. This phrase works for one simple reason: it stands for inclusivity, both in clothing and in our everyday lives. We’re all gloriously different, but we all have the capacity to put kindness out into the world. Kindness is universal, and is a trait that the CKNW Orphans’ Fund encourages everyone to openly express every day.

Media are invited to the rally on Wednesday, February 24th to celebrate the Pink Shirt Day anti-bullying campaign.
