In the weeks leading up to Pink Shirt Day on February 22nd, 2017, some amazing local businesses teamed up with us to offer ‘Part Proceeds’ campaigns. Here is a sampling of the ways Pink Shirt Day advocates supported anti-bullying initiatives by buying local!

Starting February 15, Bella Gelateria sold “PINK”, an Italian Cherry and Lime gelato, with part proceeds going to Pink Shirt Day! The gelato was available at both the Coal Harbour and Yaletown locations until February 22, 2017.
Brooklyn Clothing provided Pink Shirt Day buttons at no charge for the first 50 customers. Plus, for every customer that agreed to wear a button for at least 24 hours, Brooklyn donated $10 to Pink Shirt Day!
Cadence Cycling Studio  hosted two Pink Shirt Day classes on the 22nd – at 5:00PM and 6:15PM. $5 from each participant that attended the class was donated to Pink Shirt Day.
Up until February 22, 2017, you could visit any participating Denny’s to buy a Pink Shirt cutout for only two dollars, and receive a coupon for 20% off your meal in March! All proceeds raised were donated to the CKNW Orphans’ Fund and Pink Shirt Day.

Share your random act of kindness to win!

From February 6-22, 2017, you were encouraged to post your pledge on Twitter or Instagram and let us know how you were going to Make Nice on Pink Shirt Day.  The prompt asked: what is your random act of kindness? Posts were tagged using #METMakeNice and @MetropolisatMetrotown.

Anyone who shared photos, videos and pledges online were entered for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree and a $500 gift card to a local charity of their choice!

You could also buy one of the mouthwatering pink candy apples from the Robson Street Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory location in Vancouver on February 22, 2017! They were a sweet treat with a sweet cause. $2 from each apple purchase were donated to Pink Shirt Day!

We all love cupcakes, and these are NO exception. For this Pink Shirt Day, you could buy a pink Take Five cupcake for a friend, a bunch for your office, or one as a treat on your cheat-day! They were delicious and benefited an amazing cause.

For the month of February, withinUs donated a portion of all TruMarine Collagen & TruOrganic Matcha online sales (withinus.ca) towards Pink Shirt Day.
Blenz gave away two $20 Blenz Coffee gift cards, two Blenz Coffee mugs, plus two Pink Shirt Day t-shirts and two teddy bears! Their Instagram post detailed the giveaway, and encouraged you to tag a friend you’d love to go on a coffee date with. The winner was announced February 20th, 2017.
Barre Fitness Port Moody held a Barre Class by donation ($10.00 minimum) every Saturday at 11:00am for the month of February, 2017, with proceeds raised supporting Pink Shirt Day. Through dropping by the Raise The Barre class you got the opportunity to show your support throughout February!

Redfish Kids  invited Vancouverites to join together and post messages of love on the window of their downtown Hornby Street & Dundarave locations to create an interactive “love window” mural of kindness. To support this message, all proceeds raised from the brand’s new limited edition hot pink #Courage tees and matching ball cap went to Pink Shirt Day!

On February 22, staff at Fresh Cup Roastery at both the Surrey and Saanichton locations donated 100% of customer tips to Pink Shirt Day – and matched them (up to $500). Customers could help the friendly Fresh Cup baristas Make Nice Tips – and have fun doing it!
