CKNW Orphans’ Fund today announced that the overwhelming engagement of thousands of British Columbians in the #PinkShirtPromise social media campaign has helped raise $80,000 for bullying prevention programs in B.C.
This year, Pink Shirt Day Presenting Sponsor Coast Capital Savings partnered with Shaw Communications Inc. to present #PinkShirtPromise in B.C., which ran from February 6 and ended on February 22 with Pink Shirt Day.
Throughout the campaign, thousands of people shared their promises, including celebrities, athletes, and government officials. Coast Capital and Shaw’s donation will assist in expanding bullying prevention programs across the province and will support the CKNW Orphans’ Fund and organizations like the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Canada: Anti-bullying programs and the Canadian Red Cross BC: Respect Education Beyond the Hurt: Preventing Bullying and Harassment.
